This Interlake Steamship Company Freighter is leaving the Ford Motor Company River Rouge Steel Mill.
It is quite likely that I missed seeing it "turn around" in the "turning basin" on the other side of the Dix Street bridge.
I also missed the "dredging" operation moving from the center of the channel, to the side, to let the freighter pass.
(On my return trip a few hours later, the dredging crew was hard at work much closer to the center of the channel.)
Sometimes it is so amazing how many ships can be in this very TIGHT area... and how they will all make adjustments to let another ship go by.
This is NO PLACE for Amatuer Seamen, or Sunday Sailors.
