My usual comment whenever I fly over the Ford Rouge Plant with passengers goes like this...
The coal and iron ore come in at this end of the Plant... and the FORD MUSTANGS... come out of the other end," (near the top of the photo.)
But NOT TODAY... You can't see a single MUSTANG from here, and I couldn't see anything but empty lots when I got up there.
I imagine this is the "new model CHANGEOVER period".... to set up the production lines for a new model. They are also revamping the area of their powerplant... which is an ongoing project.

Looks like the S/S Herbert C. Jackson. I have been up the Rouge a few times on the freighters I worked on. Nice picture.

It could be the Jackson. Captain Brohl has retired from Interlake, and lives on Put in Bay with me these days. He skippered the "Sonny S" between PIB and Middle Bass Island last summer. Says he loves it... can take days off when he wants... doesn't have to be responsible for 1000 footer, and its crew... and he gets free meals at the BOARDWALK too. I may volunteer to be a deck hand for him next summer.
