When I went to photograph this scene last year, Scally, the castle was covered in scaffolding! LOL... Cheers, Joe

Harry Taggart on May 29, 2013

Many thanks Klaus for your much appreciated YS. Best regards cheers scally.

Harry Taggart on May 29, 2013

I never pay to go in any of these places Joe, but as I remember it was in drastic need of scaffolding then. :=) cheers scally.

Joe Son of the Rock on May 29, 2013

It was the same when I went to Newark Castle... scaffolding inside and outside. Cheers, Joe

Harry Taggart on May 30, 2013

I have only glimpsed this place when passing on the road, but when the light is right the view from above this same road of your 'Rock' can be fantastic. cheers scally.

Joe Son of the Rock on May 30, 2013

The castle had so much scaffolding on it Scally, I had t settle for these two basement shots. Cheers, Joe

Harry Taggart on May 31, 2013

I hope you did not need to pay to get in here Joe? before the War , large families were happy to live in accommodation like this. celebrated in song ' the wee room beneath the stairs'. we just called it a 'Dunnie' :-) cheers scally.

Joe Son of the Rock on May 31, 2013

I didn't pay to get into St Andrews Castle, Scally, as it was covered in scaffolding.I took THIS SHOT from an angle that cut out most of the scaffolding. I visited a few castles last year, and I think CRAIGMILLAR CASTLE was the only one that didn't have scaffolding. Cheers, Joe
