Hello All ..This picture was taken a this summer..and this place is often used by people from my city .
.it is open ground and anyone can wander here on the flat green moor with strange grass banks that children love to run along..People come for an afternoon stroll..learner drivers practise their skills on the quiet tracks ..new lovers meet for private talks and first kisses...people fly kites or kick a football..moorland ponies graze and nibble gorse bushes.. it was on this open ground that i learnt to ride a horse as a teenager..but only after talking to a old local did i learn about the past of this place .
it was an Airbase in the Second World War made with rubble from the bombed city..Many foreign Pilots from England ,Poland ,Czech,French,Canadian.New Zealand ..flew fighter planes from here to defend this Island....and the grass banks (where my children now run )protected the planes from air attack..
Thank you all for your kind words my friends Samo monochromo Pepe elvio 逃离城市

Laughingmackerel, My friend, looked at you this section of exquisite romantic narration, I as if really arrived this place, peaceful and serene place. You send in the link, I saw here history, saw these pilots, probably also saw here once flames of war • • • • • •, Perhaps these pilots already are not alive, but today children in here happy running.
you have photographed this picture, conforms to your description extremely, stretches out the arms happy running from the child, once experienced the flames of war with here, Blended in the black and white color, was happiness and recollection blending.
I thought a good picture, is can hit your heart, does not need to be many, sometimes is a look, a movement, even one kind of color, cannot say, was hit!
Thanks your picture, thanks your exquisite description, takes to me the mind the move.
Your friend, flees the city

逃离城市... as always my friend i have great happiness to read your words. ..
I have had great moments with my loved ones here...and i am very happy that this place is now used by local people in a time of peace..infact many of those locals dont even know about the past of this place..once as a very young man i rode a grey horse fast across this moor and i never realised that this was where Spitfires and other fighter planes had lifted off into the sky 50 years before..
My childrens Great-grandfathers fought against each other in that War..their grandfathers are good friends..the way it should be..
