I see, it is not only here that the harvest is not finished...due to the rain ! Nice picture Marilyn.

Hello Marilyn. Beautiful vertical and horizontal lines. I like it. Greetings.

Thank you, Jacques and Pepe. It was a very pleasant evening scene--worth trying to make a picture.

Jacques, we have not too much rain, but too little!

Greetings, Marilyn

Very nice, Marilyn. The little shoots there behind the fence, catching the light of the evening sun just make the shot. I love the shade, then going into the light as well.

It is very beautiful and quite peaceful.

You title is Perfect!

Greetings on this fine Monday evening,

Mary Alice

Thanks for your kind words, Mary Alice. I still haven't decided whether to leave this one posted. Maybe I just like it because of the atmosphere Sunday evening. This was the view when we parked behind a little country church in order to attend a hymn sing. Beautiful and peaceful, and idyllic.

I'm not feeling peaceful and idyllic at the moment. We're getting ready to start back to Ontario on Thursday. Recently we've been staying in Wisconsin into October, but next weekend we're due in Ottawa for a baby shower for our first grandchild, due around Halloween. For that we'll leave our summer home early!

I wish it were Monday evening, but I'm very much afraid it's Tuesday!

Marilyn,

Good evening to you.

By ALL means, leave this one posted. Are you kidding? I love it. I think it is wonderful, and I thin you captured the atmosphere quite perfectly.

Do not be stressed about your trip back to Ontario. Just as soon as you see that new little baby grandchild, any and all uncertainties about the early trip back will be put to rest. What a joyous Halloween you all will be having this year. Congratulations.

It's very nice to hear from you.

Warm regards,

Mary Alice

Marilyn My best wishes to you bothfr your forthcoming family extension!

I myself have four grandchildren, every one a total delight to me and the rest of the very large family circle.

So, this marks the ehd of your harvest of 'Summer photographs' for another year, how time rolls on.

A great big thankyou to you from me, as a new Panoranio member, for your comments and encouraging messages this last two months.

I look forward to 'Home-ground' pictures when you get settled in.

Safe journey, greetings from Mike

Thank you, Liviu, Hank and Mike.

Mike, your comment couldn't have arrived at a better time. I found it when I made one final check before we started the 1400km drive to our son's home--to be followed a day and a half later by the 450km trip on to our home, I was physically exhausted by the putting away and packing and cleaning, and your very nice words gave me a real lift. Thanks!

Beautiful, meaningful photo, Marilyn! In many of your photos I discover a double meaning. The same happened with this photo, which has a very strong expression. Your last pictures have a melancholic, almost sad touch.

Unfinished harvest!? It needs some grains to remain for next year to grow a new harvest. The harvest of lives will carry its result in friends, family and other persons. Even if a person "goes to the other shore", there is still the light visible like in your single halms, caught so nicely by some rays of sun and seen by you, the photographer. Great photo, Marilyn! Thank you! Y*!

My dearest wishes, May

May, I'm slow in answering because I don't know how to reply to such a fine, thoughtful comment.

I have been hoping to go to contemplative photography workshop. It was to have been held this past weekend, but it was cancelled: not enough people had registered. Instead I've gone back to reading a little book I have on the subject.

The author writes in favour of ambiguity in photography--not, of course, the ambiguity of a poor, unclear photograph! I think he's commending images that aren't too obvious and "easy," but offer the possibility of discovering something more, just as you have done here. So I especially thank you for your discussion. I'm sure that it stimulates me in the same way that the photography event would have if it had been held. I appreciate receiving it from a friend instead!

Very best wishes, Marilyn

Dear Marilyn, I am always far behind in answering, I just can't keep up like I wish I could! Thank you for your words, you do me a lot of honour.

Some of your photos have this contemplative quality, which get a deep resonance in me, that was exactly what I tried to say above and what I mentioned before on other occasions.

This topic and your words made me stay up very late last night, I started to write for more than an hour, as if I was talking to you. :) If I get a little extra time, I'd like to come back to it again later. It's a subject which is of great interest to me for many years.

My best wishes, May

Dear May, your further reflections made me wish so much at we could sit and have that conversation over coffee, tea, or some delicious Swiss hot chocolate!

I don't know whether you've seen, but indirectly you stimulated me to look a bit more closely at my photo of the path and the little bridge.

Very best wishes, Marilyn

Marilyn, it's amazing how simple things can become extraordinary with the right light. You certainly found the perfect time of day for this field to become something more. It's simple and pure, like a farm should be, but the way the sun connects with the earth here adds a new dimension that just can't be put into words.

Greetings, Ryan

Marilyn Whiteley, on September 25, 2008, said:

Thank you, Ryan. Yes, the light was right and I just had to take a photo even though the subject itself was ordinary. Thanks for the affirmation.

Greetings, Marilyn
