In 1871 an 80 carat diamond was found on a hill which led to a diamond rush. Thousands of people arrived and began excavating their claims. Soon the hill was a hole! There are quite a few diamond bearing kimberlite pipes scattered around Southern Africa similar to this. Greetings Steve
