It is interesting, how is the station? Is there any photograph of the station?
Hello Richard, here you can see the station of the "Schwebebahn-Monorail" from the outside - here inside the station. And here are some informations of the rail in English language. Thank you for your kind comment. I'm very glad that you like it. Please tell me where are you from.
Warmest regards from the Northern-German "Harz-Mountains", Harry.
Thanks for introducing "Schwebebahn-Monorail" to me. It is a talent innovation. But why is it designed into a suspended manner? What is the advantage of the suspended train compare with the trains with rails under them?
By the way, I am a neurosurgeon in Hangzhou, China. I have uploaded some “landmark pictures” into Panoramio to get Hangzhou known to the people all over the world. Also there are some pictures taken in Harbin, in northeast China, and from Beijing, the capital of China.
Hello Richard, Wuppertal is today a town with 350.000 inhabitants in a very, very tall valley. In the middle of the valley is a river, called "Wupper". Wuppertal is 34km "long" but only 2km "wide".
Five towns grew up together while the european industrial revolution. There are many factories and mines in the near of Wuppertal: Chemical factories, engeneering, electricity companies and the textile industrie need a lot of space in the small and tall valley. The mono-rail was builded mostly above the surface of the river in the beginning of the 20th century. So the mono-rail doesn't need so much space and the passengers can see the river and the nature under them.
I'm very interessted in your gallery. I was once in my lifetime (1999) in Beijing and at the top of the Great Wall.
It was one of my greatest adventures in my life. After this travel my best friend married a chinese lady and their first son is my godson.
Warmest regards from Germany to China. Harry.
Maybe I should label my pictures in English so as to introduce our country to foreign friends.
It sounds interesting of you friend story to meet with and marry a Chinese lady in his journey to Beijing. I have been in Beijing from 2004 to 2007 to get my doctor’s degree in Beijing Tiantan Hospital. Most of the pictures in my gallery is taken in Hangzhou where I am living in.
