Hi, Natalia. Thanks. I put the camera on a tripod and on 'bulb'. the storm was out on the lake and moving parallel to the shore, luckily!

Great storm photos. I don't think that I'd have the guts to stand out on the beach with that stuff coming ashore.

Thanks, gbay. It wasn't that bad because it seemed to be moving up the lake (and across to Georgian Bay!) Also, I had a telephoto on.

Great shot George. Almost two minutes really gave you a nice variety of bolts. What power eh?! :) Well done.
Best regards, Tom

Hi Tom. Thanks for the visit. I've shot lightning before, but with slide film and one doesn't know what the capture will be. With the digital you can see right away. The storm co-operated, as well!

Nice Sot you use bulb?or shutter speed im a begginer and i would like to capture lightning
George Sled, on July 3, said:
I used a tripod, bulb, a remote control and put it on F16 (I think), then held the shot for a while. I looked at the result in the viewer and deleted any I didn't get. Out over the lake, there wasn't much for interest in the foreground, however, it was far enough away, I hoped I wasn't in danger standing out with a metal tripod..something you should be careful of!

Thank you hardertom. I held the shutter open quite a long time, but the strikes had been coming in this area fairly frequently.
