Thank you for your comments, Piero and Rafael. I like these pictures from Alchi, because the temples are so dark that, when visiting them, you can only see the part of the frescoes lit by your lamp. It's only with long exposure photos that you can see the frescoes as a whole.

Philippe, move all your beautiful Sumtsek photos to Alchi (which is at 34° 13' 22.88" N 77° 10' 26.55" E) There are so few good photos from inside the Sumtsek and yours are special! Some of them are now at Mangyu Gompa a days hike from Alchi. Panoramio may not accept that many photos at one spot. Hello, Rolf I've looked at this location, and I'm not sure it's the right one. We can't see any village at this place, but maybe it is only because of the resolution of the satellite image. Are you sure of the location?
