I might post a lot about this area, but there are a few Crackers of Photos up here that even you would be proud to have taken, the couple that quickly comes to mind are snow shots, one with sheep, If you,re interested just google world this area, I have arranged accommodation for the Lass just stick her on a Glasgow bus. :-)))) scally

So you found out she had a Pub called after her, that,s ok,she and me might be of an age, and as Gilbert said" If she can pass for 43 from the back in the Dusk" as long as she,s got a bob or three she do me fine, remember all I,m driving is a beat up Micra. scally.

Harry Taggart on September 8, 2008

Fain, that wasn,t my car at the Safari park, it would be taking too much of a chance going that far. I thought the clue that I wasn,t the driver would be enough to set you wise.:-)))scally

Harry Taggart on September 8, 2008

I take it Ian is a Park keeper, he takes some nice photos of trees, but I,d be more intersted in one of the Pub. cheers scally. I think I,ll post some trees.LOL

Mauricia Sala on September 8, 2008

HiScally, this is very nice, like somthing magic... your gallery is really special!! Greetings mauricia

Harry Taggart on September 9, 2008

Yes Fain and most times it,s driving me up the pole, but I do get to drive so she can tell me how dangerous a driver I am, and it acts as a bit of therapy for her blues. Her washing was out on the line, for 1/2 hr before she noticed your rain, so I think I might be driving soon. Cheers scally.

Harry Taggart on September 9, 2008

I can not thank you enough mauricia, I do not think it is magic, but under this cloud is a massive Land Fill site (DUMP) It is clearly seen on the map and why they would place a dump at the top of a beautiful tree lined Glen, is beyond comprehension One would think it should be as low as possible, rather than the top of a hill. :-((( regards from scotland scally

And to you ingridrc

Sue Allen on September 15, 2008

Soooo, is that methane gas making the cloud then?

Lovely sky, but not so lovely if that's the case. If you want a red sky at night shot, you could try lighting a match in the vicinity... bad idea, bad idea....

Cheers, Scally,

Kind regards, Sue

Harry Taggart on September 15, 2008

Did you check the Map Sue,to see the size of this Dump? What a wonderful idea, first frosty night I,ll be up there with the matches, and if the winds right, might get a wee bit heat, and with the constant rise in the price of Gas we,ll need it, LOL regards scally from rainy, chilly Scally.

Sue Allen on September 15, 2008

I'm not sure what I'm looking at on the map, Scally, but is it that big patch of brown over towards Springhill Road?

I've been whizzing around all over the map, you see, but when I go higher up to get an overall view, then I can't see enough of what is there to know quite what is what...

Maybe it's because I haven't had my coffee yet! I shall do the hectic 'getting the kids off to school' and then have another look.... :)

Cheers, Scally!

Best wishes from Sue

Harry Taggart on September 16, 2008

Hi Sue, you,re going the wrong way, move to the top of the map ( North) and its at the top of a wooded glen, It,s BIG Sue. Why put a dump at the top of a hill?? think it would be better in a big hole, not too big it might end up in OZ, lol cheers scally.

Sue Allen on September 16, 2008

Yep, we got it, Scally. Margarette found it for me - I must be blind as a bat. I don't know how I missed it. What do you reckon all those triangle shapes are to the East of it?

I reckon.....that they put the dump on the top of a hill so it was less visible from the surrounding landscape. Perhaps if it was in a valley, you would be able to see all the barrels of toxic waste (joking, I hope) going into the landfill, but if it's on the top of the hill, there's a limit to how much you can see without going within the boundaries of the site.

Or, maybe they figure if they put it on the top of a hill, it has all those extra layers of filtering rocks before all the pollutants find their way into your water table. That'd be a more likely theory, I should think...!

Two theories! - I am on top form at this time of day, compared with mornings!

Cheers, Scally, thanks for putting me on the right track!

Harry Taggart on September 16, 2008

If you look at the Photo Sue, you will notice to the right of the Trees( which border a racing stream) a rather dull coloured hill. this is height of the Tip which they have grassed over, but it hasn,t quite taken Hey it might be Australian grass seems the right colour. Could be they,re copying that Welsh Film "they climbed a hill and came down a Mountain", Cheers harry, I,ll put you on so many tracts you won,t know if your coming or going,LOL

KillCrazy on December 29, 2008

Was this picture actually taken at that location? I ask because there are houses there now.

Harry Taggart on December 29, 2008

Hi KillCrazy, You can,t be looking at the right spot. The trees you can see at the top left mark the gully of Killoch Glen, and the Landfill is a good bit higher since I took this photo. If you expand the Map on the land fill you will be surprized just how big it is. cheers scally. Oh, if you meant where I took the snap from? your dead right I took it in front of the swings in Kingston rd, park.LOL.

Harry Taggart on January 31, 2009

Many thanks Mario for your kind comments. cheers scally from glasgow.
