Morpeth, Northumberland, England was flooded 6th September 2008 when the River Wansbeck flowed over the flood defences. Previous bad floods were in 7th March 1963. This photo was taken the day after on the 7th Sept 2008 when river levels in places had dropped by nearly 3 meters. Over 1000 homes were affected some flooded to a depth of 1.5 meters.
If this was the day AFTER, it must have been terrible.
There is video on YouTube and some of the footage shows the river level at the banding mark just above the arches on this bridge. Horrendous for some of the residents of Morpeth who have lost so much. My photos don't reflect the true extent of the floods.
