A loose translation into English:

"This marker was erected in 1819 to indicate the border between France and the Netherlands. Ever since 1830, the year of Belgium's independence, this marker has indicated the boundary between France and Belgium."

The differences between the wording of the French and Dutch versions on the sign are interesting.

Hi, before 1830 it was only France and the Netherlands. After 1830 the year of our independence it is still the border but now between France and Belgium ! The border between Belgium and the Netherlands is now about 65 km to the North East because our coastline in only 65km.
