Hello Karolina.
I continue seeing his interesting photos and I have stopped in this cave where Zeus was hidden, according to some of the versions that plead for their cretense origin.
The presence of the rails surprises to me. Is for the extraction of archaeological material? did they follow in use when you visited the place? when were you there?.
Excuse me to disturb you with as much question, but given the amiability that you have shown before, I animate myself to continue asking, if I am an annoyance for you, say me it and I will not return to disturb you.
Thank you very much and my better wishes for you, Arturo.

Hello Arturo, I was there in september'2006 and I was suprised by the existence of rails too. It is possible that they were built for archeological excavation Inside the cave there is a wooden floor and wooden stairs and rails going down. Here you can see how it looks inside: http://www.greekhotel.com/crete/rethymno/rethymnon-sightseeing/ideon-andron.htm
