LOLOL! Neverland/Netherlands! Michael Jackson once tried clogs, but he couldn't moonwalk in them (fell on his nose).

Hi Sue,

No, there are no Jacarandas growing @ home now. Actually, my best friend's wife, who's from Jacarandafull Argentina, tried to grow one in the south of London (where the winters are less cold than here) and despite the "gentleness" of London's winters, the Jacaranda died... so I guess I'ld have even less chance than she had here...

However, I found it's nordic equivalent : a Prunus

The other solution would be to bug the Basel city greenhouse to grow one... they grow things that you'ld never expect to see in Switzerland... check it out! ... however, when I see how the Swiss Banana trees grow, I think that with some more pollution, we could get the global warm up strong enough to grow Jacarandas in here !

But who cares... Jacarandas are a green and purple wonder... but what about green eyed girls using purple make up ?

Best regards from eastern France :-)

LOL, OK, with the new 'Comments List' set up, I just HAD to stop by here and see just how many pages of comments this shot has. 23 pages!

But lol, oh dear. We get all our comments back, but looks like titles are now limited to 10 lines! And that makes me realize what a pain the new comment set up is. No more scroll fatigue, but to read all the comments, you have to click through each page of 10. So no easy way to read your Ode!

Oh, I like that comments page system, Kamaly, thanks for waking me up to that! I just put up the top what page the poem is lurking on, just in case any one still wants to read it...too easy!

Hope you've having a wonderful evening over there,

Best wishes as always,

Sue

Hi there Sue...long time no hear from!

How is your book doing?

Susan @llen, on October 9, said:

Conrad, it's really lovely to hear from you! Well, I'm waiting for the paper proof reading version to come through the post from the good old US of A. Every stage has taken a long long time, but fingers crossed we're near the end of the road now.

Mind you, if I find a mistake in it at this stage, it'd cost me a lot to correct it, and since I was the last person to check it, the buck stops with me, so if I disappear off the radar for good and you see a funeral notice, you'll know there was a spelling mistake! I think when I see that parcel in my knackered old mail box down on the road, I will shake with fright, no kidding, well fright and excitement, I guess. :)

I have been doing a little browsing around on Panoramio, and the night time jaunts are creeping back later and later, so I'll soon be back in my old habits of sitting here with my nose making prints on the screen and I'll be straight over to see what you've been up to. I very nearly got to not1word's gallery the other day too, but was thwarted at the thumbnail page. I shall prevail, the kids can find their own socks, missing train parts, false teeth, or whatever else they lose, and I shall lose myself on Pano for a while. Yippee!

Anyway, I have rambled on big time, while sipping coffee and now I have to hit the road in the first part of a very interesting schedule today, which involves theoretically being in several places at once, at least two of which are 100 ks apart, so we'll see how all that pans out...

My very best wishes to you, Conrad, and I'll catch you soon. Thanks so much for asking about that book of mine, it keeps my own enthusiasm for the project alive, you do me a great favor.

Hi there Sue, AKA Supermom! Thanks for the update; it sounds like a lot is going on in your world down under! It looks like you are getting very close to becoming a published author; can't wait to see the results - you will give us the info we need to order a copy, right? I mean, no we don't want the copyright, we just want a copy. Signed of course. This whole process has the feel of a tiny sprig being nurtured into a beautiful flower. I look forward to hearing more about your goings on, and in the meantime, if you have the time, or the inclination, or if the muse swings your way, is there any chance you could grace us with a little ditty?

Your kids have false teeth?

Susan @llen, on October 11, said:

:D I got a bit carried away with my examples, Conrad.

What a very wonderful message you've left here. Thanks a million, I mean it.

I'll see if a little ditty springs up. My poems took a tumble when I was on some annoying pills, but I've ditched them and I do believe there are some glimmers of syncopated waffle returning!

All the best in the meantime,

Sue

I am just putting this on here so I can find my other account, which is suedenym. There are some familiy historical photos if anyone from Kempston Bedfordshire is interested. There is also one from the first world war in Germany and i'd just love to know where it is, but I doubt I'll ever find out. And now, back to my alter ego, Queeeeeeeenie!!!!!1

Now I put myself in my favourites, how desperate is that? HO HO!

Susan @llen, on October 12, said:

Nick, you have made the cockles of my heart positively swelter! Thank you so much, I feel like doing a tour of Pano world and dishing out hugs galore, you are such a special bunch of people!

My very best wishes to you, dear Nick, and I am so happy you are thinking of getting a book! I know of at least 3 copies going out the door now, so I shall not have done it in vain, I have this huge fear that the whole thing will be the most lamentable flop and have a bad habit of perching perilously on things and if I drop off, the book will be a flop, or if I drop a pile of things I am carrying before I get to such and such a point, it will be a flop, you get the picture -- sort of self torture! I don't know why I do that. Another favourite of mine is going through the traffic lights, and not only am I crossing my fingers that I get through them before they flick over to amber, because I'm in a hurry, but also because I've done the book torture thing again and if the lights go red, dah de dah de dah, flop, etc, etc, you got it. Doh! Must be my age, do you think? :D

I really must cut the waffling!

Anyway, really good to hear from you, Nick, take care and catch up with you soon...

Best wishes,

Sue

AND, Jim, as you will have noticed, I'm hot on your heels -- you are 0 minutes in front of me, or at least you would have been if I could have spelled minutes right the first time, instead of the third time!

Keep one eye over your shoulder, Jim, me lad...
