Thanks Eve. I am so glad I got to visit this place with snow on the ground. not only was it beautiful, but it was so peaceful; a marked contrast (and a surprisingly emotional drain) compared to what put this place on the map. So sad, it is impossible to see valor here...only a terrible waste.
I visited Gettysburg in March of 2003. Very different from the day the battle was actually fought, but the rainy, dreary day seemed fittingly somber. Unfortunately, I lost the pictures when my old computer crashed. I am much better at keeping backups as a result.
