When I was a child, however, it was Christ Church C of E (Church of England) Infants School, usually referred to as Belgrave School.

I lived at 77 Westbury Road for most of the time I was at Christ Church CofE Infants School, but then moved to 81 Clarendon Place for the last year or so.

Anthony Thompson has provided a school photo, taken at Christmas 1968, of Belgrave school which I've uploaded to John Latter on flickr.

Anthony Thompson has provided another 1968 Belgrave school photo, this time of the Teachers and Staff who were there.

At the moment, you can see it either at John Latter on flickr, or on the Christ Church C of E Infants School, Belgrave School, Dover Facebook group (I may add it to Panoramio later, although they're not keen on people/indoor shots).

Part of the caption reads:

Teachers and Staff of Christ Church CofE Infants School, more commonly known as 'Belgrave School', Belgrave Road, Dover, Kent, UK.

The photo, a very rare item indeed, belongs to Anthony Thompson and was taken at Christmas in 1968.

First on the left of the back row is Mrs McNeir (sometimes, McNear). Her son, Andrew McNeir (Andy McNeir) is often seen around Dover, although he is not yet on the internet.

Anthony's mum (Mary Thompson, the 'Lollipop Lady' at the time) is 2nd from the left in the back row.

Miss Skinner, who taught me in my first year at Belgrave over a decade earlier, is 2nd from the right in the back row.

The headmistress, Miss Cuthill (pronounced, 'Cuffil'), is second from the right in the front row.

To the left of Miss Cuthill is someone who I think may be Mrs Archer, the wife of Reverend Archer (was his first name, "Ted"?), the vicar of Christchurch church which once stood further down Folkestone Road, opposite the western end of Dover College.
