skida lovely landscape, lovely photo! kat
I love that wall trundling along in the foreground ,and the scenery's fascinating with it's dips and peaks. Matching trees too, which keep tricking me into thinking that the bottom field is somehow reflecting the hills. It's strange, my eyes keep flicking all over the shot and it's because my brain is somehow confused over the trees. Isn't that weird? (Haven't even had a drop to drink this evening!)
Anyhow, that's my worry, not yours, as this is a lovely photo!
Thanks kat and Sue. We got out on the motorbikes yesterday and I have been meaning to photograph this place for ages. As usual our "personal cloud" followed us, so it was a bit dull. It was only when we got home and I transferred the photos that I realised how misty it was.
The B6318 (or Military Road as it is known, here) is a great road for the bikes, so I will get back there on a brighter day for another shot.
A bit of extra info: Hadrians Wall follows the line of the horizon (you can just see a bit of it towards tthe right edge). Those Romans must have used good Geordie bricklayers!
'Personal cloud'.....I like that. I remember the very same thing over there. I'd see a patch of blue sky away over to the side somewhere, do a detour and by the time I got there it would be raining there as well. The only break we ever got, that I remember, was in Austria, when we packed up our tent in the rain and headed for one of those gigantic tunnels to stay out of the rain for a few miles, and when we emerged the other side of the mountain, it was dry and sunny and it stayed that way for the rest of the day. It was like our own personal miracle! Here's to more days like that in the UK for you!
Very nice wiew in a good photo. Thanks for your comment in the forum.
