Hans, great photo! It's much nicer in Summer than in Winter! I prefer Grindelwald and the whole valley to see in the warmer season.

Regards, May

Hello again MAY ! Yes the Wetterhorn is awesome, it is so huge, that it even creates its own micro climat, like clouds/rain/hail. This image was taken from the Grindelwald side, but the view from the Rosenlaui Valley is wonderful to, thank you for your time and comment. Hans, NL.

Hans, this past summer I was several times up in Grindelwald, but I never managed to get such a good foto of the church in front of the Wetterhorn. Congratulations. The picture is now one of my favorites and I pushed the 'smiling button'.

Thank you very much flueckiger.kurt for your very kind comment. This night i will be leaving for a holiday in the Austrian and Bavarian alps, and hope to shoot a lot of new photo's.

Thanks for now,

Barbara

Hans J.S.C. Jongstra on March 17, 2012

Danke schön Barbara i surely had luck with the weather, there was a Föhn wind around at the time. High up the mountains, it was very windy and a little cold, but who cares if the weather is this clear ! It rarely happens in summer, this was in September.

baba49 on March 17, 2012

It's remarkably clear. To catch such weather is really lucky, Hans. At the moment it's like this high up but down here one can barely see the far away mountains. They are in a haze. Like fog really.

Hans J.S.C. Jongstra on March 17, 2012

Yes, i do know this hazey weather all to well. I have been to the Berner Oberland yearly since 2002, and sometimes 2 times a year. As soon it gets warmer, the haze starts. Here, as you said i was extremely lucky. (specialy since i am only here for 2 weeks a year )
