AMP Centre (left) and Riparian Plaza (right) are both expressions of the significance of riverbank land in Brisbane real estate. They also frame the Eagle street financial district of Brisbane, which first emerged as a high rise district in the 1960s with the erection of a modest 13 storey building. Brisbane City Council has ensured and contributed to the public use of and access to the waterfront. The paddle-steamers come restaurants are just one indicator of the connection of Brisbane people with their river.
The horizontal dimensions of the river contrast with the vertical values that it generates.
