Where? Where is the face? Even the largest view doesn't look like he has a face!
LOL, jean - that's what I realized once I wrote that above: They don't really have one! The eyes are on the top to look through the carapice, the mouth is in the middle of all the legs, and they breath through gills behind all the feet! (on this one, looks like a gull had pulled on of the gill casings out.) (And this is a horseshoe crab anatomy page that 'splains it all. )
BUT when you said that I realized that I did in fact have a closer view of a big one - where I intentionally pulled the top and bottom apart to show it was empty inside, and not a dead one. So I just posted that here.
Also - I've got a pretty eye popping 3D of the macro that I'll upload on that page is I ever stop getting distracted by comments and everyone else's photos and getting lost in my photo files folder staring at the beach stuff!
