This reminds me of one of Guy's great sunsets or like Atlanta burning in Gone With The Wind movie. Grand sunset! Great capture! Another wonderful title!

Yes, it could quite easily slot in among ones from that part of the world. I think there was a lot of dust around at the time, which must really help diffuse the light and make it so red. The girls love 'Gone with the wind' (long film though, isn't it?! They also love Pride and Prejudice and all the old historical stuff. It makes a nice change for them to watch things like that in our modern world, dont' you think?

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, you'll have me glowing with happiness as brightly as this sky!

Kind regards, sue

I have heard that the best sunsets are when the air is filled with dust and that the best sunsets, the most colorful happened when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I have noticed that the sunsets here are much more colorful after we have had forest fires about.

Kind regards always! to you too!

Ha ha, Jean I'm imagining that the dinosaurs' big feet kicked up a lot of dust. I bet scientists haven't come up with that theory yet? They probably think it was volcanoes or some such thing, but i know it was dinosaurs doing a polka!

I'm hoping we won't be getting any fires this year, but you may be sure, if we do, before I realise that I should really be evacuating or at least dampening down the house, I will be taking photos of the encroaching smoke, such is my addiction to all things to do with photos!

Very best wishes to you,

sue

Thanks, gix, this one was taken years ago on my old film camera when I first came out to Australia. We do get a lot of these furnace in the skies sunsets and I never fail to be bowled over by them. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave your messages. I know I've taken ages to reply, but I've really enjoyed catching up with your visit!

Best wishes,

Sue
