I live only about a 15 minute drive from Asbury, but only saw him play once at an environmental festival in 2001. He did a set solo for about half an hour, where he debuted his song "My City in Ruin" less than a month before 9-11.

I've seen Boss live (only in Europe) 7 times. "My City..." is one of my favourite songs. Do you have other photos of places related to Bruce? We (I mean fans from Poland) are looking for pictures of such places.

Was never a major fan, which explains that the only time I saw him it was a surprise appearance at a festival where I was doing volunteer work for a local public radio station (great station by the way).

As you are obviously a fan. I'm sure you've found much more relevant or interesting stuff relating specifically to him. I have more info on the actual history and revitalization of Asbury Park itself. Springsteen's career pretty much chronicles the time period when AP fell to ruin (early 70s) till now. 5 or 7 years ago you could go to Cookman Ave (The main Business area) on a Saturday night in the summer and the place was deserted. Now on weeknights it can be hard to find a parking space.

I am also into the local dining scene and maintain an online listing of local restaurants. If you pull up the listing and sort by clicking on the "Location" header you can see how many dining spots there are now in AP. The number is astounding given that there were only a handful 10 years ago.

For what it's worth, Bruce played at my high school in the fall of 1974. He opened up for Carlos Santana's cousins band, and nobody had ever heard of Springsteen... :-)
