Here is another tip for getting a good photograph. Get up at 2:00 in the morning and drive 4 and a half hours to the shoot location. Get out in the rain and go to where you are going to take your picture. Set up your tripod, mount the camera and stand in the rain with 50 other photographers. Wait for three hours for the chance to take a couple of pictures between rain squalls. It was actually a great day and I really had fun.

Greetings Bruce, Thanks so much for visiting the Maroon Bells with me and your wonderful comment. Driving over in the rain wasn't the best for morale but once I got there and joined all the other die hard photographers, it all seemed worth it. We all waited, the weather broke a few times and we were able to photograph the Maroon Bells and the changing aspen trees to our hearts content. A very nice road trip.

Cheers,

Rich

Greetings Laci, Thanks for visiting and commenting. Glad you could drop by. I really did have a fun Sunday getting these shots and others. The weather made it different from the usual sunny day pictures. I liked this experience very much. I am glad you liked the picture.

Cheers,

Rich

Great, Richard. Your tip could be completed if you combine photography with fishing, then at the evening you'll have besides some good shots some nice catches too; and the dinner is already organized ...

It's just another ordinary day... I hope you had coffee with you Rich and took a shot of the other 50 photographers waiting in the rain...

I'm laughing as I write. I encountered the same line of photographers a few times, but it was mostly by accident when it occured. The results were a couple of great shots, and I hope, no cold.

Cheers,

Hank

Greetings Anna, H.S. and Hamza, Thanks so much for visiting the Maroon Bells and your wonderful comments. I am happy these pictures are being received so warmly. The autumn is a little late this year so everybody is ready for the change in the colors. I like it this year because there are trees that are changing to give the bright yellows and reds, but there are also the different shades of green as the trees start thinking about changing. And all these colors contrast so nicely with the dark pine trees. Such a beautiful setting. I had a wonderful time and I am glad you all enjoyed the visit with me. Thanks again for the visit.

Cheers,

Rich
