Actually not a radar, but a radio link to another NATO base close to Thessaloniki in northern Greece. The link (along with the nearby NATO base at Gournes) has been decommissioned more than a decade now.

Actually, this was a USAF comm site and the two 60 foot bill board anteneas was used to transmit a radio freq of around 2GHZ to Mt.Pateras, southwest of Athens. We had a microwave shot from Mt Edheri down the Iraklion Air Station. I also worked at Mt. Hortiatis which is up near Thessaloniki. But that Tropo shot went to Mt. Parnis which was north of Athens. I worked as both military and cilivian contractor for these sites starting in 1973 up to 1992 when the equipment was turned off.
