You are right, Scally, I have seen something like trims on my car's wheels. ;) When I was in Aberdeen, I came from Northumberland and actually wanted to stop somewhere above Dundee, but I couldn't find a bed anywhere, so I went on and on until I arrived in Aberdeen very late and got a cosy accomodation in a B&B on Bon Accord Street, where I found a parking space as well. All I saw the other day was the neighbourhood of the B&B, the seaside, port, boats and some oil platform in the distance. No pubs, nothing to eat for the arrival day, except breakfast :( no Union Street and besides I was there on a weekday. Thanks for the tip, maybe next time! :) Best regards, May
With all the oil Industry Aberdeen is a busy wee place. I,ve spent a bed and breakfast in the Swallow hotel just before you Dundee at Invergowerie, a couple of months ago and it was lovely, sits in lovely wooded grounds with wild rabbits everywhere, they have even got a wee swimming Pool and heated Sauna pool May. As to Aberdeen, the recreation drug problem is so wide spread that a couple of weeks ago the Police introduced a machine that could test for drugs in the system. They had machines at every Club entrance, not compulsery but if you refused the Test the Bouncers refused entry. They have not tried this anywhere else in the UK, cheers scally
So I was lucky to have met quite a different Aberdeen, Scally. As for the hotels, I actually stayed only in guesthouses and B&Bs, the only time I stayed in a little, nice hotel was in Dornoch, Sutherland. I have had a look at the Swallow hotel in the internet, thanks, it's very pretty, but I usually don't spend more than 35 - 45 £ a night. But who knows, if ever I travel to the Northeast of Scotland again... :) Greetings, May
As I was writing about the Swallow, I gave a thought to price May, realizing that we were in a party and getting really good discounts. I,ve been in London Hotels where the price shown for i nights stay was almost the same as for our 4 day break.:-(( cheers scally.
Hello, SCALLY, it's very splendid panorama. It looks like painting of the romantic painters...
