From the top end of the lock a balancing stream runs on the south side of the lock and pours out at great pressure here in the left foreground. (Or fore water). Hence the name "Stenson Bubble". It is always full of oxygen so a great place for budding anglers. It is reported that I slipped in here as a kid but I still maintain I was pushed by Glen Wickes! He grew up to be quite a well known policeman so not bringing charges any time soon. Have a long memory though!
