This view from Sydney Tower includes the eastern section of the Central Business District which towers above and obscures Parliament. One of the roof shells of the Opera House is visible in the upper left, and the dark area includes Farm Cove and the Domain Parklands.

Great shot Ian Thank you for sharing as even if I went to Australia, would never be able to go so high. Thank you for the additional information. Greetings

Ian Stehbens on September 27, 2008

You are welcome, Antonietta. I'd love to be your local guide when you come! Thanks for the nice compliment.

Great city view, Ian. I try to catch up with the latest uploads of my Panoramio friends, after more than a week off. Warm regards, Liviu

Ian Stehbens on September 27, 2008

It is great to have you back, Liviu. I and the Lincluden team have missed you and your uploads. We've been keeping an eye on your gallery! :))

I don't go to the top of Sydney Tower very often, but we were there for a wonderful birthday dinner for one of our daughters, and the other daughter, who lives 1000kms away, was there as a surprise (she happened to be in Sydney for a professional conference and had kept her coming secret).

And of course I took my camera - ever mindful of my Panoramio friends!

Warm regards, Ian

Fantastic view Ian, I love big cities by night...

Ian Stehbens on September 28, 2008

Thanks Edmundo.

Either I have to come to Uruguay to go night photgraphing with you, or you have to hop across the Andes and the Big Pond to come night shopping with me.

Ian Stehbens on September 28, 2008

And Luca, you asked for more of Sydney, so I went out and did it for you on three nights: near the bridge, at Darling Harbour and a night in the Tower at dinner with my family. They are gifts for you. And thanks for the honour of being added into your favourites.

Luca Rigato on September 28, 2008

Thank you for your gift! I'll soon put some photos of the skyline of my city who is located near Venice, so that you can see the difference between Italian cities and Australian metropolis!

Ian Stehbens on September 29, 2008

I look forward to the fruit of your photo assignment, Luca. I have only been to Italy once and that was only as far as Savona (from Marseilles) when a problem with our vehicle made me decide to head back to our base in Britain. We turned north climbing the Apennines loving the beauty and the rural architecture, then to Torino, Aosta and Switzerland. Savona, Torino and Aosta were all special to us, and they remain as such in our memories. So I look forward to exploring your city more.
