The point u r marked as 'a road over the dam' is not correct in best of my knowledge. It is a rail way bridge across paravoor kayal. (kayal= back water)

the point 'a aroad over the dam' is loking like a dam due to the double railway line pssing through it. one line is an old made of iron grides, and othe other is new made up of cement concreate. Two, third of the full water gap is filled with earth and one, third covered by the bridge. Because of these the site seen as a road "over The Dam'.

didn,t u delete the photo yet. u said that the photo was taken in a trip from trivandrum to allapuzha. BITU saying that it is 'It is the view of Paravoor Pozhi from Railway bridge across Paravoor kayal' i strongly suggest that from a moving train it is unable to take this picture because it is too far to zoom with this clarity. but u traveled by a car the above said route does not passes through this way. this rout bring u from paravoor town to closser to the sea shore and run through the sea shore to kollam. but this way is worse than other because some parts of this 'coastal road' had swallowed by the sea. incase, if u took this route, surely u will not forget the journey and the place. BITU said it is " paravoor pozhi". pozhi means the mechanical shutter - like in a dam- to control the flow of water from back water lagoon to sea and vice-versa, during low tide & high tide.the face towards the sea is not so wide as in the photo but it is reinforce with rock wall by both banks. u can also exam it the suggetion of BITU is ' paravur pozhi', it u can get in google earth pointer 8o48'55.06"N 7o39'01.58"E. there u can also get the right photo of the Paravoor pozhi. SO THIS PHOTO IS NOT POSSESS EXISTANCE "DELETE IT"

If the marking is correct it is the view of THOTTAPPALLY POZHI from the thottappally spilway. It is in between harippad and ambalappuzha. And the photo is look like that place. This is not all paravoor and it is not a railway bridge.

It is Thottapally spillway. Where the lake joins the sea. On the spillway it is NH47. There are shutters on the spillway to control the flow of salt water to the lake. Railway line is much away from the spillway.

No doubt. This is Thottappaly Spilway. The bridge is part of national highway made accros the artificaial cannal which connects Vembandu lake and Arabian sea. The spilway has been made to prevent flood in Kuttanadu.

The Concreat hand rail in the picture is of the main bridge. The second hand rail in the picture which is iron is of another bridge, made later, for pedestrians since the main bridge is very narrow and caused many accidents.

Please see the video.
