The same scene, 60 years ago.

Thanks for posting the pair. Great fun! (And what a location!)

It felt very strange standing in the same spot that my Dad did on their honeymoon. I am glad we did it, tough.

Hmmm.... It would be interesting to see how many places have changed as little as this. I feel a forum thread coming on. :)

That is a really good idea. Love them both. Well done. Zoe

Thanks for saying that Zoe. I am glad you appreciated the photos which mean so much to me.

Nice idea !

skida on November 5, 2008

Thanks Juergen. I had been scanning some old photos and when I looked at the one of my dad I thought it wood be a good idea to take a copy of the photo to Bamburgh to see if we could find the exact spot. Luckily the place hasn't changed very much.

Your outfit is better;-D

BWS's ghost on November 23, 2008

hi keith! you look like a very distinguished gentleman there, except maybe for the leather motorcycle pants ;)

i truly hope the NPC arguments in the "comments kitchen" haven't soured you on the idea completely and will come back now that 4ullas, bruno and i have all come to good terms again. maybe even kamaly, guy and gil will return - we'll see :D

best wishes, brian

Thanks for your kind words Brian. The leather pants are an essential precaution when riding a bike as I am sure you are aware: scraped leather is better than gravel rash if you come off!

The NPC? Who knows? I think I need to have a rest before picking up my spat dummy! ;)

BWS's ghost on November 23, 2008

you're welcome, keith. i thought you must be a motorcyclist as your first photo posted in the "what is it?" game was part of a motorbike! :) i remember those little details... cheers, brian

What a great photo to have, how wonderful to get one in the exact position as your father. Greetings, Dianne

Thanks Dianne. I am happy that I was able to record my own little bit of history.
