Restaurant Claiming to be Al Capone's House in Varadero

Al Capone never had a house in Cuba! Who told this lie?

This looks like the DuPont's house.

I lived in Varadero all my life until 1961. Al Capone never owned a house there. That building looks like Irene Dupont's administrator, Mr. Edwards house near Mr. Dupont's home. But the landscape has changed a lot since I went into exile 47 years ago. My grandparents owned a house at Silva Rsidencial next to Kawama and it is no longer there, I cannot find my house in Isla del Sur either. Mr Julio Arango's comment is correct. Zory Perez (Diaz)

I was just going by the sign on the restaurant, calling it "Casa de Al" and made the incorrect assumption that this was at one time Al Capone's house. I certainly defer to someone who actually lived there, and my apologies to Mr Julio Arango.

This House belonged to Dr Jiquel a well to do Cuban Dentist> I know My family owned the House four houses to the left. The House imidiatly to the left Was owned My a relative of mine Pedro Mendoza, the house next to that was Owned By General Galindes, The house next to that was owned by Carmela Sampedro, the next one was my mothers, The next one was Felo de Cardenas, The next one was The Gonzales del Valle Family, the Next one was julio Lobo I can continue in both directions . When I was in Cuba in 2000 I questioned the metre di and he said it looked like Al Capones House in Miami. Maybe?

I just came back from Cuba. We went on a bus tour and stopped here. The bus driver told us it was Al Capones house. WE only stopped for 5 minutes.

I know for a fact that this was Capones own place
