thank you Marilyn yes they are intrigueing indeed - when looking at these you really want to be able to decode the messages hidden in the carvings and even try to visualize the person who was dedicated to this job. Cheers, Peter

Äußerst interessant ! Hallo Peter diese Gravuren deuten doch eine Wegbezeichnung und das Leben der damaligen Menschen an. Im ALTA- Museum sind doch auch Felsenmalereien , wie mir ein Bekannter aus Kaamanen Finland ) im Reisebericht schrieb. Auch in Schweden ,ganz oben da, sind wohl auch die Ureinwohner, die Lappen mit diesen Runen noch vertraut. Nette herzliche Grüße ROMINA

I think these carvings are similar to the ones I saw in Nasaker (S), only those are being dyed in regulary. We saw them do it actually. We visited two more places in Norway, which were just the bare stone, but the carvings were must larger. Haven't posted any of those pics yet, I'll let you know when I have!!
