Thank You for spent time on my photos! Absolute agree, than sandsculptures festival in Brugge are one of best in world! I seen Discovery program about USA and there meanwhile was mentioned than USA local festival are nice and popular, but nothing compares with Belgium Brugge events!
Are this festival happens again this year with new figures? Sure, wished to see again, but seems to me, than no chances for me this year to go there. (Overloaded with direct business!) :( I You living nearby, might be You can capture a little and upload for us?
Looking forwards to see more Brugge pictures in future! :) ainars

Unfortunately this year there is no Sandsculpture festival. I don't know why, but it is a pity anyway. But Brugge is more than festivals, it a very pretty and interesting city. Hope to see you again here one day!
Travel greetings from Belgium.

Thank You Kristine for Your comments! Yes, it is pitty than sand festival not happen every year, might be this event are more alike to olympic events or some sport championships? Sand artist earn more skills and energy over two years for next events! :D
Brugge are great place and are self enough interesting to attract visitors attentions. Such sand festivals can more likely belong to Oostende or other sea-located places?
About my another visit? Yes, sure I will come there again, just I do not know exact dates for my comming! I like Brugge, Gent and Oostende and I am lucky, than I seen those places at least once in my life! :)) Greetings -a

Hi Ainars!
in fact, before, the sandsculpture festival was always on the beach of Zeebruges. In 2006 it was the first time it was done in Bruges. And you are right, it is even nicer to visit these sandsculptures with the smell of the sea...!
Travel greetings from Belgium.

Hi Kristine, glad to see Your answer!
So I can count myself lucky if was my chances see two wonders in one pass! Wonderfull medieval Brugge, and great sands festival near Brugge train station! :)
This winter nearby me in Latvia, was ice sculptures festival, and that happens for very first time there. Might be soon (next summer?) will be sand sculptures in sea coast too?
But, if I have my chances in future to come Belgium, I will look rather again for Brugge medieval streets. ;D
With kind regards - ainars.
