The view down into, and really onto, Ouray from the Million Dollar Highway is spectacular. This very quaint little town "nestled" in the mountains is also known as the "Switzerland of America". At least that's what the sign says on the extreme right in this panorama. Thanks for looking, Tom

This one is really superb, Tom, and it deserves a yellow star! There is so much detail and colour and just so much to look at in this one.

That is really some extremely beautiful scenery there. (Although I personally haven't seen such red earth or a town with a 5th avenue in Switzerland ;) )

I'd call this the "Million dollar curve" if I had anything to do with naming roads ;)

Cheers, Justin

Excellent shot, Tom. How many separate images did you stitch together to do this?

Cheers LM. I thought the best way to give viewers the feeling of standing here was to do a panorama. A single shot just isn't the same. :)

Thank you very much Justin for those kind comments and Y*. That's a perfect name for this amazing piece of road. :)

Thanks very much Hank. Six images @18mm to get this one. A lot of fun taking and putting these together.

Heinz- Really is an amazing drive isn't it? Maybe more like a million good views. :) Thanks very much.

I appreciate your kind words Jörg. Glad you like it.

Best regards to all, Tom

I agree to jhk regarding his hint about how Switzerland looks like. The last 7 days I was there and (a lot of) pics will comming soon. Then you can get a feeling about the difference. The sign on the right tells the visitor a little myth... Your panaroma is beautiful and perfectly made!

Bye!

Thank you very much H.S.. I have not been to Switzerland so I will have to go by what you and Justin have said. It is a beautiful place non-the-less. :)
