Have you done any mountain climbing in the middle-east?
Eric Sandbo, on November 13, 2008, said:
Almost. In 1988 I tried to climb Great Trango Tower, in Pakistan. I was stopped by altitude sickness at 17500 feet (5300m). Even after a rest day, I was too sick to join my partner while he pushed solo toward the summit. He thinks he was very close to it when he turned back in the face of an increasing storm, on a double-corniced ridge. I never regretted my situation, even while I was sick. It was such a beautiful place to be.

Wow, its a shame you have never been to Iran or Afghanistan. I had an uncle who when he was younger did a lot of mountaineering in these countries. He climbed Mt.Damavand which is 5671m, but he told me that Afghanistan had some great climbs as well. Hopefully you will get a chance one day....
