A good shot, heighter coloured

Greetings John, From the board walk you can't see the real size of the spring. From the hillside to the west it is an amazing sight. On a really hot day there is less steam and you can see more of the pool and the color. Maybe next visit I'll get that condition... ;-))

Love the darkness of this image Richard that has allowed you to get great color saturation. It's a beauty.

Regards, Tom

Rich, I'll echo Tom. It's a wonderfully rich shot, no pun intended.

Cheers, Marilyn

Greetings Tom, Marilyn, Carlos and Anita, Thanks so much for visiting the Grand Prismatic Spring and commenting. You are all so wonderful. I have visited this spring many times in the past and from the boardwalk you can only see a portion of the pool (it is so big) and you don't see the color on the backside. I had seen pictures from a different vantage point and when I got to Yellowstone this time I asked one of the workers where the elevation shot was and he gave me very good description of the trail. It was an easy walk and a small scramble to get to the photo point and it was well worth the walk. I imagine on a really hot breezy day you can really see most of the beautiful blue pool. Thanks again for visiting.

Greetings Daniel, Thanks for visiting and commenting. I am glad you like the shot. It was a pleasant hike and a little climb to get to this vantage point. If you ever have the time this is the shot to get as well as from the boardwalk.

Greetings Fai, Thanks for visiting and commenting on the spring. It was nice to find the high ground to take this shot. I would not have found it without the help of the staff at the Old Faithful Inn. They are very enthusiastic about their park.
