This ancient British cross was broken by Cromwells troops. It was erected by Cyngen, King of Powys, in memory of his grand-father Eliseg about 850AD or earlier. Though the original cross listed a family geneology, there is debate about the authenticity or validity of the inscriptions. I would rate this similar to Dr Johnson's rating of Scotland; "Worth seeing, not worth going to see"
