Since I've been such a responsible citizen and put the other sensible photo of this scene on, I can indulge in a little messing around, can't I? I'm not entirely sure what I did here, but I was messing around with paint.net and did something with the 'curves' button, and this, after a bit more messing around, moving the 'points' this way and that, was the effect! If it wasn't for 'Wolf's' daring, with so many of his (far superior, I know) shots, I wouldn't dare put this on, but what the heck! It's all in good fun, isn't it, and I was rather pleased with it, so there, you go, probably anyone who sees it will hate it! Oooh dear!

Cheers, sue :)

Oh my goodness, that sounds so complicated,Volker! Luckily, all I had to do was move the mouse over a few 'buttons' and hey presto, this popped up! That's my kind of skill level! Basic!

You sound a very clever sort of person, indeed!

very best wishes to you, volker, sleep time for me.. Regards, sue

I am very very glad, Michel! I nearly missed you up there, and I must come and visit you tomororow, but I had just made my mind up that it was sleep time!

Thanks so much for your visit, and for taking the time to put me at ease about this photo, I really appreciate that!

very best wishes to you,

sue

Thanks so much, Volker, for the very interesting comment and links. You must be very skilled, to come up with such results. I particularly like the 'portrait', the technique suits the personality that the photo portrays very well, beautiful!

Very best wishes to you,

sue

Thank you again, Jacques, it's made so easy these days, with a few flicks of the mouse on a computer, isn't it? I just stopped moving the little dots when I liked the effect. Simple, just the way I like things to be!

Very best wishes to you, and thanks so much for dropping in to see me, it's great to hear from you, Jacques,

Cheers, sue

Hello Sue!

This picture is that surreal, that i have to give You a Y*! :o)

You know, i also just try, sometimes with a good, sometimes with a bad result, at least it`s always a question of taste, Your taste, cause nothing can pleased everybody..

Normally my philosophy is: the way is the goal, but in photoshopping i think, the way is less important than the result..

So keep on trying and let see the world in different ways!

Best wishes from Wolf ;°)

OH WoW! I'm very very pleased to get a Y* from you, Wolf,as you are the master of all things out of the ordinary! Thank you very much. My ramblings have been cut short here, by the star of the other photo, (him sitting on the roof) informing me that he has done a poo! Great! :)

Bye for now, and thank you so much, Wolf, for your very wise philosophy and kind words, I am very pleased!

cheers, Sue

Thanks, Billy, I could get quite hooked on this particular 'messing around' form. I did a few more, here's Thomas and here're the Jacaranda trees and here's the last one of Surreal celebrations in Gympie at the weekend..

I hope you don't mind me doing these few links, I don't normally do many, but I'm kind of keen for you to see these as you like the tree one!

Very best wishes, and I promise not to do any more links from now on! :D

That's alright, Billy, my pleasure! I'm terrible at promoting anything, whenever we have raffle at school, I always end up buying all my own raffle tickets, as I can't bear to sell them to anyone in case they didn't really want one..:) Very best wishes to you, Billy, if you get a raffle ticket in the post, just put the $1 in and send it back, no worries, I can sell them to you now!

Did you ever find out what you did?

Sue Allen on March 5, 2009

Yes, I pressed the curve button under Adjustments on Paint.net, your favourite new program!
