Remains of the black city of Umm Al-Jimal (Mother of Camels) in northern Jordan.
The approx. 130 buildings and 15 churches give a fascinating insight into rural life during Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic times.
The town is part of a series of 'Desert Castles' east of Amman on the road into Iraq. One of them made it into the UNESCO list of the World Cultural Heritage.
