Grüezi Larry, interesting photos! I have been wondering about your series of photos of 'engineered log jam'. In looking them up I came to the conclusion that it is a project to tame the river!? In this context I remember your photos of the river, which has done damage to the roads - is there a connection? Bis spöter, liebi Grüess, May

Grüezi May. It is to help the river return to its natural condition before people upset the balance from logging, clearing land for pastures, building roads too close to the river and removing large woody debris from the river system. The objective is also to protect and return areas for salmon to spawn in. Härzlechi Grüess, Larry
