Red Mountain #3 topping out at 12,890 feet. The Idarado Mine trestle is in the mid foreground. This area has been undergoing a Mining Environmental Restoration Project. The region was founded by gold and silver miners in the 1870's. It has produced over 4 million ounces of gold, 21 million ounces of silver as well as lead, zinc and copper. The restoration project, started in the 1980's, aims to improve water quality and aquatic habitat.

Excellent composition as usual, Tom. The trestle in the foreground (with its shadow) are a nice counterpoint to the beautiful sculpted mountain. And of course the colors are wonderful! Marilyn

Cheers ArdenZ, picsonthemove and Marilyn. I appreciate all of your remarks very much. The layering is nice in this one isn't it ArdenZ!? My favourite part is the two conifers in the right foreground. The lighting makes them fit together like a part of a puzzle. :) I guess I am hopelessly fascinated by the patterns in nature. :) I think you're right about the trestle Marilyn. Thank you all very much.

Best regards, Tom

Great depth and color, Tom. The lighting around the two pine trees that you pointed out is exceptional. It looks like a tree within a tree. The whole shot pulls together nicely.

Best regards,

Hank

Pretty cool look on those two trees isn't it Hank? Thanks for the confirmation and great remarks. I'm enjoying your new Woodstock series.

All the best, Tom
