Houlton Maine Abandoned Border Station

I am 45 now, but I was born in Houlton and lived there til i was 13. We used to take many a carefree ride into Canada, using that very (now abandoned) border station. Awesome pic.

It makes my heart so sad to see the decaying of that station where there used to be such a flurry of activity every time we stopped on our fun family rides into Canada!

This was active as late as the 1980s. I remember driving through this with my parents while they were building the new big border crossing station. What a reminiscence!

In 1948 I lived here with my uncle who was a US customs inspector. It was a dirt logging road then.
