Captain William W. Taylor served under General Burnside and Colonel Frank Woolford in the Civil War fought in Ky. Col. Woolford is so honored in Casey Co. Ky. and Wm. Taylor of the 1st Ky. Chatham Manor was the headquarters of the Union Right Grand Division commander Major General Edwin V. Sumner during the 1862 Battle of Fredericksburg. Major General Ambrose E. Burnside the overall commander had his headquarters two miles northeast (behind) Chatham Manor at the Phillips House.
