Was it established as a Japanese primary school?
I
m familiar with it because My farter had worked there as a teacher for several years. Its a social college now, right? But as I know this region is demarcated in Shanghai Municipal Council(koubukyoku) and maybe there were not many Former Japanese properties around this area. It`s hard for me to imagine the council would permit this construction. Are you a historian or a fan? Your photos with comment in Shanghai are really amazing.

Hi Hone.C,thank you for your comment and questions. I am only a fan of modern Shanghai City and enjoy to take photos of the historical architecture and memorial sites. Before the war, in this area there were spinning factories by Japanese management and many Japanese lived. So,this school was opened as the third elementary school for Japanese in Shanghai concessions in 1927 April. After the war, this school building was changed to a civic experimental public school and afterward to Shanghai Science Building. At present, this is Jing'an Afterhours Industrial College(静安区業余工業大学),isn't this?
