Legand has it that two Brothers were fighting over a Woman they both loved on the top of the cliff, and she fell to her death trying to stop them. The Brothers became Monks and built the church in the side of the cliff. This was told to me by one of the villagers in 1968, when I was stationed in Baumholder in the Army. The church looks like it has been somwhat renovated from what it looked like then.
