She was a Norwegian Barque that tried to ride out a howling south westerly gale in the Bristol Channel, with high seas and driving sleet and snow, but dragged her anchors and was driven on to these mud flats on 3rd March 1897. The brave men of the Burnham life boat (The John Godfrey Morris) battled the gale and managed to take the crew of 10 men and a dog off her and to safety. Efforts were made to refloat her but the seas claimed her, and she was sold as a wreck

your images are really great..painting in photography, which is not always orthodoxy according to some purist authors (like Weston) but the effect is wonderful and in my opinion when using B&W photography one must be devote to the original but with colour photos the author is really free... What technique do you use please? best regards. emil l. italy

This superb photo would be an assett to the group ;)

I invite you to become a member of this potentially exciting new theme and hope that you will find plenty to enjoy.
