"That shaft of light lit up the woods ..then it was gone." Can be a bit like the summer in Yorkshire, Jim! It is a special image, for it is the beck that does the beckoning, and the archway opens into a green spring, it seems to me, but the vestiges of the last autumn are still drifting by. This image whispers messages of both hope and heritage to me.

fajna fotografia !

Thinking about this photo Ian, it is so much more than a link to the past.

Photographs have always had a great significance to me, mainly because they were the only evidence of my family, and its predecessors. I remember with great fondness, the happy hours spent in front of a winters open fire, with my mum and grandma, and an old biscuit tin!!

They fondly recalled events from the past as they gazed lovingly at faded sepia images with their bent corners, sometimes stained with use, and sticky from the fingers of those with prying little eyes!!

I was forbidden to open the secrets contained in the snapshot biscuit tin, but like all naughty children, I couldn't resist :>)

So there we are Ian, I look upon your visit with pleasure as I once again re-visit all those special images that do indeed whisper messages of hope and heritage ;>)

Mariusz, your visit and kind comment is much appreciated ;>)

Warm regards to you both ;>)

You've got some wonderful textures and contrast in this shot, Jim. Love the rich colors, too. Very nicely done!

Hello Jim, what an awesome secret place down in the shadows of the brook. And the sturdy stone bridge, maybe from Roman times? England has an aura of such a depth of history that our younger land doesn't have. Congratulations on the beautiful colouring and atmosphere. L&F. You are one of my favourite photographers. Greetings from Australia, Heather.
