Hedjaz Train

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

On the road in northern Jordan.

From a trip on the International Train between Amman and Damascus via the former railway hub of Dara. Took us 14 hours, including an engine breakdown and incredible hospitality by the train crew struggling to keep century old 1st class German railcars running. Highly recommended!

Tina, there is an international train between Amman and Damascus. Plus several lines in Syria and into Turkey and Iran.

Jordan does fan-trips with historic steam engines to Wadi Rum and Aqaba. Usually this line is cargo-only.
