She was a Norwegian Barque that tried to ride out a howling south westerly gale in the Bristol Channel, with high seas and driving sleet and snow, but dragged her anchors and was driven on to these mud flats on 3rd March 1897. The brave men of the Burnham life boat (The John Godfrey Morris) battled the gale and managed to take the crew of 10 men and a dog off her and to safety. Efforts were made to refloat her but the seas claimed her, and she was sold as a wreck

There's taking a photo...and then there's bringing it to life! Thanks Roger for this photo...and the other wonderful photo's that you have taken. They are amongst the most dramatic and beautifully framed that I have seen - ever!
