This is a very nice picture of the columns beside the border crossing. Do you know anything of their history? I walked across the border into Qamishli in early June 2001 and saw them then. The very nice Turkish commanding officer asked me if they were Persian. I did not know for sure, but I did not think so. What are they?

Thank you hhgygy. I will look into Nisibis. There seems to be a lot of history in Nusaybin.
