Taken from the summit of Nelion (lower of Mt. Kenya's twin tops) at sunrise. I had soloed the Ice Window route the day before and spent the night on top just to see the sunset/rise. Read article here.

Hi Jim! Great shot, although the trip you took to get here is sure one to be admired even more!!!

But another Pan. user - 3445313 has admired your shot so much, he's decided to take the same photo without making the actual trek, and in fact without even bothering to remove your name!

'mitoycloro' has been reported by others who've had their photos stolen by him, and you can find a discussion in the forum. But you might want to also report the stealing of your own photo directly to the team at 'copyright at'

Thanks Kamaly, that is funny how that person takes other people's pics and posts them on his page - all to share though, so I guess it isn't a big deal.

Great shot Jim! But I am curious about the pyramid image I see in the photo? Just an optical illusion or something more?

Jim Dockery on January 4, 2010

jgfergus, That is the shadow of the mountain (common on many singular mountains at sunset/rise), not an optical illusion.
